Mask It Mist It Challenge NSBD-Follower Corner

Hey Krafters!

Before I begin, I have to give a shout out to Melissa from Peace, Love, Joy, and Paper! Her blog is so inspiring! She made a couple of projects misting the backgrounds using the mesh from apples. What a brilliant idea! Check it out here. Pop over to her blog and spread the love. Thank you Melissa for thinking outside the box J

You know when you have a deadline to meet and once you're done, are not completely happy with the end results although I am happy with the technique. Whelp, that is the case with today’s project! I had two whole hours and this is what I came up with. Not happy! Yep, this was the Mask It Mist It Challenge during NSBD! I had fun making it, but….now the picture has personal meaning which I will not bore you with the details. So it was titled “Da Bootie”. I know it is spelled “booty” (treasure), but again there is a story behind the title J

Anywho, thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Memories: Journaling Challenge NSBD

Happy Memorial Day All!

I hope you all have a wonderful day remembering what this day signifies! I plan to throw some goodies on the grill and fellowship with my friends and family.

The project I am sharing today is one of the best memories I have of my daughter. When she was about 18 months or so, she used to say, “Wait a minute” all the time! It was hilarious! When she said it, she always had this expression on her face! It was the cutest thing…seriously! This is another project I did during NSBD. The challenge was all about journaling!

Although this day is to reflect on the men and women that sacrificed their lives for us, I encourage you to remember loved ones and simpler times. Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

NSBD-Like Home Challenge

Hello Kafters!

Here is another project from NSBD! I know many of you seen this already in my gallery. However, I wanted to share anyway. This challenge was to make a layout about your home or a place that reminded us of home. I decided to do a digi on my city. This was really fun to do! The papers are from Krista Designs; aren’t they great!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project!  Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Day 5 Mother's Day Celebration Week

Happy Friday Krafters!

This marks the final day of the Mother’s Day Celebration Week! I enjoyed sharing all of the projects and I hope you enjoyed them too! Today I am sharing a Tea Dispenser I made for a friend who loves drinking tea.

I bought the file from the Silhouette Studio. I have to admit, when I opened the file, I was a little intimidated. Let me assure you, it was really easy to assemble! You will need two 12x12” pieces of cardstock or thick pattern paper for the base and one sheet of pattern paper for the layers (optional). I used the Linen Closet Stack by DCWV. It will go along with my friend’s kitchen or her office.

Once the dispenser was assembled, I placed pearls on the lid. Then I added some I Am Roses and Prima Flowers, lace, sentiment and charms (tea cup with saucer and tea pot) to the top.

The pattern paper has designs that are the color of the Prima roses…perfect! I also added a butter fly (not pictured) to the lid as well.

For the first one, I am really happy how it turned out! Next time, the process will go faster. These will make awesome gifts for the tea lover in your life!

Happy Mother’s Day to ALL of the mothers out there! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

Beautiful Mother

Hello Krafters,

Today is the third day of the Mother’s Day Celebration! I have to admit, while others may not like this card, I LOVE it! I adore the lady on the photo. She is so beautiful to me. I have no idea who she is LOL. I found her picture on the internet and HAD to use her image on a card! I believe this picture was taken in the 1920s.

The pattern paper is the Gabriel Collection by Bo Bunny. It is some scrumptious paper J

I will spare you the specifics today. Hope you enjoyed the card as much as I did. Thank you for stopping by, Krafthead~

Coral Couture Mother's Day

Hello Krafters,

Welcome to day two of Krafting Love’s Mother’s Day Celebration! Today I am sharing an easy card. DCWV’s Coral Couture paper is GORGEOUS! Most of the papers make a beautiful card all by themselves. Since this pattern is so pretty, I did not want to over embellish. I printed a sentiment off the computer and cut it with a tag Nestibility. I also used the Classic Oval die to layer behind the sentiment which was dry embossed. I added a few flowers, sprays, lace, pearls and butterflies to finish it off.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by, Krafthead~

Diva Mother

Happy Monday Krafters!

Today is going to kick start our week long Mother’s Day Celebration! I am sharing a simple card I made. This was fun to make and I am so happy about how it turned out. The stamp is by Close to My Heart….love it! The image is cut from a Nestability. It is layered on top of the DCWV Bella stack. To add to the design, I added a beautiful lace and pearl trim. The flowers are I Am Roses and the Mike’s dollar spot. I also added pearl and a leaf from the Foliage Shapeabilities.

Thank you all for stopping by! I can’t wait to see your Mother’s Day creations! Krafthead~

**TIP** use handmade or less expensive flowers in conjunction with your more expensive flowers (i.e. I Am Roses). Less expensive flowers are great to use as fillers J

Librarian Card~

Happy TGIF Krafters!

This is day five of Teacher’s Appreciation Dedication Week! It has been fun sharing projects all week! Today I am sharing a simple and playful card I made for the school’s librarian. Not only is she the librarian, she also steps in to assist teachers or acts as a substitute teacher from time to time. It was only right to make her something too…right? I remembered I bought a library card stamp from PTI and had the Notebook border punch by EK Success….this card was born! I stamped the information from letter stamps from the $1 bin at Michael’s (when there was a dollar bin). I thought that was a funny way to showcase the card.

Thank you once again for stopping by and leaving love! Every comment was read and appreciated, have a wonderful weekend, Krafthead~

Posted Note Holder

Hello Krafters!

Welcome to day three to the dedication to Teacher’s Appreciation Week. Remember it is next week! Today I am revisiting a project I did once before. I love making Posted Note Holders. I thought it was only fitting to do one for the teachers. They always need to jot down something right?

This measures 3.25” x3.25” once assembled-there is a .25” inch gutter on both sides to allow room for the papers.

A quick and simple project for the teachers in your life! Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~

KISS Me?

Hello Krafters!

Hey, Krafthead, do I have my days mixed up or are you posting on a Tuesday? Rest assure, today is Tuesday, May 1st! LOL! I know I usually don’t post on Tuesdays but this is a special week J. And no I don't want you to kiss me. I will explain! This day two of my dedication to Teacher’s Appreciation Week which is next week! For these cards, I decided to mass produce and K.I.S.S (Kept It Simple Silly).

I used basic shapes in MTC to make a pencil shape. I copied and welded two pieces together to form the card base. I cut the layers from the basic shapes (unwelded). I used the Me & My Big Ideas School pack for the papers. I used a pinkish pattern from the stack to replicate an eraser, another sheet for the pencil part and Core’nations Textured Canvas for the lead.

That is it! I have so much on my plate, so KISS was the way to go J Thanks for stopping by, Krafthead~
